A good friday.

Yesterday, Scott and I made an impetuous decision to jump on our bikes in search of chocolate in the shape of bunnies and eggs. We quickly chose to head in the direction of the best chocolatier in town, who inconveniently happens to be in North Vancouver. To avoid most of the uncomfortable traffic we opted for another last-minute choice, and rolled our bikes onto the seabus for a 15-minute cruise to the North Shore. No snack bar, outside deck or cruise director but still a fun ride.

This was Scott switching out the lenses on his protective eyewear from clear to dark. Spring is still playing possum here on the coast, making clothing choices a little bit of a wild guess. I promise that he did not spend the whole day looking this crazy.

After we had stocked up on chocolate and indulged in some outrageously decadent pastries, we turned our bikes back to the seabus and the city. But at Waterfront Station, instead of turning left we turned right and cycled our biked around the packed Stanley Park seawall, dodging tourists and families. "You can tell it's been a cold winter," said Scott, "because even though it's not a particularly nice day, EVERYONE just needs to be outside."

By this time it was mid-afternoon. As we cycled along the edge of English Bay towards home, Scott announced another addition to the day - that what he could really use at that moment was a champagne cocktail. 'Nuf said. In short order we had stopped at a waterfront bistro in False Creek for a bit of bubbly, augmented with Pear William (for him) and Cassis (for me). Perfection, and a perfect day.
