I spent this week with some of my 2010 friends bringing Olympic excitement to the streets of New York. Miga, Sumi and Quatchi appeared on NBC Today Show, and attended the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller plaza... and I got to tag along.
The mascots can't help but bring a smile to everyone's face... even for hardened and blase New Yorkers. These characters had a few impromptu appearances on the streets and undergrounds of New York and were quite a hit: hugging security guards, dancing with passerbys, posing for pictures.
These week brought the upcoming season of festivities into focus for me - it's now less than 30 days to Christmas, just 70 days to the start of the Olympic Games a little under 100 days to the Paralympics. And if the celebration in New York last week was any indication, the celebration in Vancouver and Whistler in February is going to be phenomenal.
