Sending out an S.O.S.

It's the final days of a cold, dark winter and fresh local fruit is slim on the ground. The craving for something sweet and bright to break through the dry-toast-syndrome is real, but we're in a bit of a bind.

Most years, we have an ample supply of berry jam gifted from friends and family, and this canned summer goodness keeps us smiling through to the glorious months when nearby bushes are laden with fruit. This year, however, our appetite exceeded our jam supply and we've run out a full two months short of strawberry season. We're trying to be calm about this, but jamic (jam panic) is starting to set in.

The 2011 jamine (jam famine)
So, we're sending out the alert. If anyone has particularly delicious jam that needs a good home, please send, stat. Our breakfasts need your help.

Love,

Janice & Scott

  1. There are a few more bottles in the freezer. You will have to share them with your sister.
