Summer living

Getaways to Galiano are a highlight of our summer, not the least for the neighbours. Bill and Karen are nice, but I'm really talking about the otters who live under the logs at the edge of the high tide line. These little guys can most often be spotted at dawn or dusk, headed out for a fishing session. They usually travel in packs and are pretty hilarious to watch. They're shy, but don't let their reticent style fool you... they love to party. In fact, they've been known to throw a bender on the speedboats moored nearby when no one is looking... and leave one stinky mess to clean up. But when they're behaving, they're fun to have around.
